Today I give you: Rumer Bloodspike from the OSR Challenge: Short Adventure, Stony Limits.
Rumer Bloodspike, the Duergar Ranger, is a rare sort of Duergar indeed, as he tends toward doing good rather than the typical evil nature of the rest of his race. While roaming a mushroom forest on the outskirts of the demesne of the Gravelfoot Stronghold, he happened to meet a Dwarven maiden and saved her from the attack of a large mimic, which had taken on the appearance of an enormous gemstone. To his surprise, the maiden turned out to be the eldest daughter of the Clan Chieftain of the Gravelfoot Stronghold, named Gilifra Gravelfoot.
After daily meetings over the course of three months, Rumer has fallen madly in love with Gilifra. Her father has arranged a political marriage for her; as a result, Rumer and Gilifra have decided to elope. Rumer plans to bring three of his closest warrior friends with him to aid in their escape and elopement.
Undercommon is his native tongue, although he knows both Dwarven and Common, though not as fluently. Any attempt to converse at length with him in anything but Undercommon will make him uncomfortable and will cause him great embarrassment.
